When two strangers have nothing left but their dreams, they must forge a relationship in Nantahala, North Carolina, a small town known as Land of the Noonday Sun.
Excerpt:
As
soon as he set her on the ground, she heard the waterfall. She gazed at the
pounding waters as they fell over the rock and hit the stream below. “Wow, this
is…so beautiful and so close, right off the road, near our house…amazing.
He
smiled. “This is nothing, Cassie, hardly anyone even comes here. I’ll show you
some waterfalls and trails over the next few weeks that will take your breath
away.”
Cassandra
couldn’t contain her smile or the feelings rushing through her veins. He wanted
to show her his state. It was beautiful she realized, and the thought of
discovering it with him made it even more exciting. She was certain he was
correct about taking her breath away, but she was also sure it wouldn’t just be
the waterfalls.
Land of the Noonday Sun is Book Three of the Southern Suspense Series; however, it is a standalone book that can be read on its own. Some readers have said that the male protagonist in this story is the most endearing of all my characters, and I admit, he'll always hold a special place in my heart. I put this poor man through hell and back again...and well...I guess you'll just have to read it to see how he fares. :)
The
Southern Suspense Series starts with my first romantic-suspense bestseller, She
Belongs to Me, absolutely FREE! From there, all the stories have a slight
connection to each other, so you can continue the journey and meet different
protagonists with different issues and tragedies to overcome. Every story has a
mystery, there’s always a gentle message, and above all, there’s always romance
and suspense.

Ooh! I just bet she's right! Is he jaded about this waterfall or are there really more impressive ones? Great six!
ReplyDeleteOh my, yes... The area where my story takes place, Nantahala, NC, is a hop, skip, and a jump away from Brevard County, North Carolina AKA "Land of the Waterfalls". Simply breathtaking and definitely worth the trip.
DeleteSounds like she knows herself well! Beautifully written six :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Christine...

ReplyDeleteThank you, Zee. It is so easy to imagine and write a romance with such a beautiful background.
DeleteNice six! Is this the scene on the cover? I like covers that have a scene to them!
ReplyDeleteActually no, as he mentioned, he would show her waterfalls that would take her breath away...this is one of those *later* places.
DeleteThis scene takes place minutes away from their home on Lake Nantahala, and though it is beautiful, it really is just another waterfall located right off the side of the road that I've actually hiked. All the places I write about are areas I've actually lived or visited.
Thanks, Kelly!
